Contracted as a Night Duty Astronomer to support level 2 undergraduate use of the OpenScience Observatories. Responsibilities included briefing students, checking observing plans, and ensuring safe operation and shutdown of the system.
Contracted as a Night Duty Astronomer to support level 3 undergraduate use of the OpenScience Observatories. Responsibilities included checking observing plans, and ensuring safe operation and shutdown of the system.
Under contract with The Open University, I supported University of Edinburgh use of the OpenScience Observatories in undergraduate teaching, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting.
Contracted by The Open University to facilitate the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) “In The Night Sky: Orion” on the FutureLearn platform. Responsibilities included moderating comments, answering queries on the content, and encouraging participation and collaboration between participants.
Outreach
Two-day event held at Hunley Hotel & Golf Club, Teesside, catering for the general public and local schools. I manned a pop-up stand demonstrating the OpenScience Observatories and communicating the exciting solar system science ongoing from partners around the world.
As part of wider Asteroid Day celebrations, I published an article on the OpenLearn platform to communicate my PhD research on asteroid observations and brightness variations to a general audience.
